Privacy Policy

The short version

DayTrak is a local-first application. We do not collect, store, or process any of your personal data. Your time tracking data never leaves your browser unless you explicitly export it.

What data we collect

None. DayTrak runs entirely in your browser. All data (projects, time entries, evidence records, settings) is stored locally on your device using your browser's storage (Origin Private File System via Evolu). We have no server that receives your data, no database that stores it, and no analytics that track it.

Cookies

DayTrak does not set any cookies. No tracking or advertising cookies are used anywhere.

Third-party services

  • Cloudflare Web Analytics — Used on the landing page (daytrak.app) and the app (my.daytrak.app) to count page views. Collects no personal data, sets no cookies, and does not track individual users. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
  • Vercel — Hosts the landing page and application files. Standard web server logs (IP address, browser type) may be collected by Vercel's infrastructure. See Vercel's privacy policy.
  • Evolu Sync (optional, Pro) — If you enable multi-device sync, your data is end-to-end encrypted before leaving your device. The sync server stores only encrypted blobs and cannot read your data.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored in your browser's Origin Private File System (OPFS). This means:

  • Data is scoped to the specific browser and origin (my.daytrak.app)
  • Clearing browser data will delete your DayTrak data
  • We recommend using the Export Backup feature regularly
  • We cannot recover your data if it is lost — we never had access to it

Your rights (GDPR)

Since we do not collect or process any personal data, GDPR data subject rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability) are exercised directly by you through the application. You can export all your data at any time via Settings → Backup & Restore, and delete it by clearing your browser data.

Children's privacy

DayTrak does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under 16.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
